To beat a 10 year old dead horse, yes those are Warhammer 40k Imperial Guard costumes, which are based on Russian uniforms. The eagles on them aren’t Nazi, Nazi eagles have only 1 head and these have two. They’re Imperial eagles from the ancient Roman Empire; the double heads originally symbolized the eastern and western Roman Emperors. They were/are also used by several European countries and royal families (including Russia) but NOT by Nazi Germany, because Hitler wanted to avoid any lingering associations with the Kaiser. Additionally, Warhammer 40k’s Imperium of Man borrows heavily from the Roman Empire in most of it’s overall symbolism.

STOP saying that they’re not Nazis, everyone knows this by now. In one of the first comments on this article, someone said that the girls in the picture claimed that they were Nazis. If they were wrong, then so be it, but stop blaming Jay for claiming that they were Nazis when he was the one that was informed otherwise. Honestly, it’s annoying. And stop calling eachother ignorant, stop using a bigger vocabulary to make yourself sound smarter (no one knows you on here so stop trying to look good), and James… just stop… you sounded horrible the first time, so just because you use better english the second time doesn’t redeem you. Say something different on this site. Everyone is tired of seeing the same thing.

This is hilarious in the first place and in the second that people are responding, like me, so long after this posted! But Dr. Science and Tony are right on! They should be punched for dressing like Warhammer 40k guards, and while to the general ignorant populace they may resemble Wehrmacht or SS garb, aka “Nazi’s,” they are really quite far from it, with the minor exception of the blurred and small (in the picture) eagle. But eagles are everywhere, incl. the U.S., duh. Otherwise, these guys look nothing like any German military in garb or equipment. Don’t insult the German military that way! ;)~

I enjoy watching people who are ignorant and even those that are NOT ignorant, but just DON’T CARE.

This is the funniest thing i’ve seen today, Thank you, Jay for writing this.

And thank you to all the people who are posting about warhammer, as if we didn’t read the first response and understand… it NEEDS to be REPOSTED 982570982356 times for us to comprehend that they are not Nazi’s…

I have to point out that all of you are wrong wrong wrong about the “Nazis”. I’ve read many of the Warhammer 40K novels and I’m also a WWII reenactor so I know a little bit about Nazis. The Imperial Guardsmen are actually more like the Russian Soviets rather than the Nazis (who are from Germany for all of you who don’t know the difference.) I won’t go into the ideology of the books to make my point but as far as the two girls costumes, check them out and then do an internet search on Russian uniforms and you will see for yourselves.
Also, there were no women soldiers in the Nazi army but there WERE women in the Soviet army.

ask Dr. Science…he knows more than you do
