Do zombies crave human flesh? What is the black market product that they keep in the fridge? What do they do at Live Dead that makes them prohibit all but a few living humans? Are they content just to continue being until they decay and disappear?…

Let’s get this out of the way: the Blair Witch strategy was on par with the first Jaws trailers. The idea was genius, and though at times slow, was a brilliant act of low budget horror filmmaking. Many folks may disagree with me and those folks can eat a bag of dicks. The living legend Ric Flair once said, “fool me once…shame on me”…

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that Summer sucks. That’s right. I said it. Not Summer Glau, the spunky actress of Firefly fame, but the actual season of Summer. It’s fucking hot. Especilly where I live, in the West San Fernando Valley, where we hit 3 digit temperatures for weeks at a time. The kids are out of school meaning that they’re, like, around a bunch when I go do stuff. There’s no new TV on. …

was a little disappointed when I found out that the Mike Mills that directed Thumbsucker was not the same one that plays the bass and sometimes sings for R.E.M. Michael Stipe’s all about Independent film, so why not Mills? I guess he’s too busy being the most talented member of that band to make indie flicks about teen angst…

Lots of real life lately: cancer in the family, sick animals, lots to do, a house to sell, Christmas madness. I needed a break. I got an e-mail from my buddy Chris, asking if I’d like to join him on Sunday in seeing Hostel. I hadn’t heard of it (I don’t watch TV), so dug on the web. I saw the film website. I looked up IMDB. I checked with discussion groups. A film about torture for money in the Eastern Bloc? How did I not know about this…

Right now, as I type this, movie reviewers are putting together their top ten lists for 2005. And without a doubt, the vast majority of those critics are adding Crash to that list. Many already have…

A favorite subgenre of mine has always been the Christmas slasher flick. I’ve reveiwed a handful here at MCFTR over the years, starting with the cult classic Silent Night, Deadly Night several years ago and devoting practically the entire holiday season to the genre last year…

Usually, the worse a movie is, the easier it is for me to write about it. Somehow, the opposite was true when it came to Redneck Zombies. This movie was easily the worst thing I saw during my Zombie tribute this year, and that’s saying a lot

Our tasteful and discerning friends at The Sci-Fi Channel are back with another installment of The Return of the Living Dead series. Anybody who isn’t up to speed on the history of this twenty-year old franchise should stop by my review of Return of the Living Dead 4: Necropolis before venturing further if you don’t want to end up totally confused…

The Return of the Living Dead series began in 1985 and was a lovingly brutal homage/parody to the genre. The first two movies were intentionally funny, and had enough gore to make even the most totally desensitized sicko (me) happy. The third one; however, was only funny because it was so damn stupid…

When you’re dealing with a film genre that involves dead people coming to life and eating the flesh of the living, it’s ironic that it’s so hard to take most of the films in it seriously. I mean, that sounds like pretty heavy duty serious shit…

I didn’t know what to expect when I loaded up on Zombie movies for this month’s tribute to the walking dead. I knew I’d probably have to wade through a bunch of the crappiest films ever made in order to really satisfy my zombie cravings, but I’m used to bad movies…

I don’t claim to be the world’s most respected authority on what constitutes a Zombie, but I think I’m pretty good at knowing when I see one. I will say that if the only thing that seperates a Zombie from its living counterpart is the color of its skin, then I would hesitate to call that thing a Zombie…

This 60’s campfest also went by names such as Zombie, I Eat Your Flesh, and Voodoo Blood Bath before finally being landed with the odd name of I Eat Your Skin. There is, unfortunately, no skin eating anywhere in the movie, but that shouldn’t stop you from giving it a chance…

I figured that when I chose to undertake this zombie project that I’d be seeing a pretty wide array of movies that just so happened to feature the living dead. So when I saw Kung Fu Zombie out there, I decided I had to see it…

“Eat a bowl of fuck, I am here to party!” Quite possibly the best reason for seeing Night of the Demons is this confusing yet extremely funny line. It’ll also give you a pretty good idea of what you’re in for if you decide to watch this movie…

Any true Zombie movie fan will tell you that there are two men who have become synonymous with the genre. Of course, there’s the American master of the Living Dead, Mr. George Romero. But Italy’s favorite son in the world of Zombies is the one and only Lucio Fulci…
