Movies I Liked, Kinda Liked, & Didn’t Like in 2005.
By Jay “Me So” Hornsby
So I know that end-of-the-year movie type things normally have an in-depth review discussing what about a particular movie made the reviewer feel like it was the best or worst movie of the year. This is not one of those. I just haven’t had the time to put all my creative energies into coming up with a bunch of witty and clever ways of saying “this movie was the awesomest of awesome” or “this movie is teh suck”. So instead, you get the following simplified (and quickly thrown together) list. I liked the movies in the best column; I didn’t like the ones in the worst.
And now, in no particular order…
BEST: Sin City
Batman Begins
40 Year-old Virgin
Comedians of Comedy
Serenity
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
Devil’s Rejects
Wedding Crashers
Inside Deep Throat
Sky High
King Kong
Unleashed
Aristocrats
Kung Fu Hustle
MOVIES THAT TURNED OUT A HELL OF A LOT BETTER THAN I THOUGHT & EXCEEDED MY LOW EXPECTATIONS Bad News Bears
Dukes of Hazzard
Stealth
Hitch
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Sahara
MOVIES THAT WERE GOOD, JUST NOT AS GOOD AS I THOUGHT OR HOPED Constantine
War of the Worlds
Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
MOVIES I WAS MOST DISAPPOINTED WITH BUT NOT SO DISAPPOINTED THAT I PUT THEM ON THE WORST LIST Fantastic Four
Kicking and Screaming
WORST Longest Yard
Elektra
Bewitched
MOVIES I’VE BEEN MEANING TO SEE AND PROBABLY WOULD’VE LIKED IF I EVER GOT AROUND TO WATCHING THEM Murderball
Walk the Line
Land of the Dead
Jarhead
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Sarah Silverman: Jesus is Magic
March of the Penguins
